Soul Angel's - The story

Soul Angels is the artistic identity of Angel Gomez, an emerging soul artist whose music is rooted in love, vulnerability, and timeless emotion. Born in Spain and raised in England after immigrating at the age of five, Angel’s journey has always existed between cultures, languages, and feelings, a duality that now defines his sound and vision.

Growing up, music was never just background noise. It was a language of connection. Long car rides filled with the voices of Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder became early lessons in emotion, storytelling, and honesty. These artists taught Angel that soul music was not about perfection, but about truth, about making the listener feel seen, held, and understood.

At just 16 years old, Soul Angels was born quietly in his parents’ house. With limited resources but endless dedication, Angel began pushing himself to the limit, teaching himself, experimenting, and learning how to translate feeling into sound. Late nights, scribbled lyrics, and endless replays of classic records shaped an artist who believed that music should speak when words fall short.

The name Soul Angels comes directly from Angel’s own identity. “Ángel,” a name deeply rooted in his Spanish heritage, became a symbol, not of perfection, but of intention. Like Cupid or a messenger, Soul Angels exists to deliver emotion. His music aims to glide, to float, to feel like being suspended in love itself.

One of his defining inspirations is Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together,” a song Angel describes as softness wrapped in passion. That feeling (gentle yet overwhelming) became the foundation for his single “ROSES.” The track was created to feel like a journey through love: romantic, weightless, and sincere, as if the listener is drifting through clouds shaped by affection and devotion.

While rooted in classic soul, Soul Angels is not confined by it. Angel dreams of blending subtle elements of his Spanish identity, from romantic phrasing to hints of guitar-inspired warmth, creating a sound that feels both familiar and new. His mission is simple yet ambitious: to revive soul music for a younger generation, proving that love songs still matter, that emotion still has power, and that vulnerability is timeless.

Autobiography

Welcome to Soul Angels, where creativity meets passion. Explore my unique collection of artistic expressions that resonate with the soul and join me on a journey of inspiration and discovery which lets the art speak to you. With a humble beginning in my parent's house when I was 16 I would like to describe myself as dedicated and as someone who pushes himself to the limit to achieve his goals. Now, I was really interested in soul music from a young age as my dad has always listened to a lot of Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and more. This has made me listen to a lot of these due to my dad playing them in the car and in other situations. As I have already mentioned, a favorite of mine is, 'Let's Stay Together' as it creates feelings of softness along with an incredibly passionate love. This song among other themes was one of my main inspirations for my new single, 'ROSES' as I wanted to convey this feeling I get from 'Let's Stay Together' where the love this man is conveying takes you on a trip helping you glide almost as if on clouds of love.

Something which I wish I could've included is some lyrics in Spanish as my name 'Soul Angels' is inspired directly by my real name Ángel which is very typical in my country. Along with some lyrics it would have been nice to include some musical elements such as the iconic Spanish guitar sound which I think would be a change to differentiate me from other soul artists. At the end of the day my goal is to convey strong feelings or emotions that I along with others may feel, like love, and to help bring back a genre which seems to be less and less popular with the youth.
